Meerkats

For writing we have learnt how to write animal reports. I have written an animal report about Meerkats.

Opening statement
Meerkats are mammals. They don’t lay eggs. They also belong to the mongoose family.

Appearance
A Meerkat has brown fur and sharp claws, they have vision binocular eyes, a long tail and dark patches around their eyes.

Habitat
Meerkats can be found in Namibian desert, Southwestern Angola and South Africa Kalahari desert.

Diet
Meerkats eat plants, scorpions, insects, fruit, eggs, lizards, birds and small animals.

Closing Statement
Meerkats live in burrows in large groups called mobs.
