Mountain to the Sea

We have been learning about the Mountain to the Sea for our theme this year. Here is a picture I created using google draw.

Meerkats

For writing we have learnt how to write animal reports. I have written an animal report about Meerkats.

Opening statement

Meerkats are mammals. They don’t lay eggs. They also belong to the mongoose family.

Appearance

A Meerkat has brown fur and sharp claws, they have vision binocular eyes, a long tail and dark patches around their eyes.

Habitat

Meerkats can be found in Namibian desert, Southwestern Angola and South Africa Kalahari desert.

Diet

Meerkats eat plants, scorpions, insects, fruit, eggs, lizards, birds and small animals.

Closing Statement

Meerkats live in burrows in large groups called mobs.

Geometry

In class we have been learning 2D and 3D shapes for geometry. We have also learnt about giving coordinates for mapping.

Penguins

Opening statement

  Penguins are birds they don’t fly at all. There are 17 species and the  largest penguin is the emperor & the  king. Little Penguins are the smallest.

Diet  

Penguins eat fish, squid and krill and use their beak to catch prey. They Feed during the day and they also feed their   little baby chicks.

Appearance

Penguins have a black back and white front. Some have yellow on their neck. They have short legs and they waddle side to side. They have wings just like flippers but they can’t fly. Penguins are excellent at swimming and penguins have a heavy body.

Penguins have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm.

Animal Report

We have been learning how to write animal reports. I have used pic collage to present mine.

Pet Day

Yesterday we learnt how to make a vaseline saucer for Pet Day. Here is my vaseline saucer. Today it was pet day. Lots of people had pets, like cats, turtles, calves, lambs, chickens, fish and even a lizard.

I helped Honey carry her kittens in the parade.

Greats and Grands Day

It was Greats and Grands day today, we had lots of fun and lots of food and the great thing was spending time with my nanny.

Partly Cloudy

We have been learning to use adverbs in our writing. Here is my Partly Cloudy writing.

Partly Cloudy

Slowly the strong heavy bird dropped the baby on the crazy soft grass.

Quickly the strong heavy bird went to his freaky house. The freaky house spun like a kitten.

Loudly the freaky house scared the crazy bird.

Sadly the frightened cloud got left behind and he cried proudly.

Suddenly the crocodile chomped on the bird’s soft head.

Smoothly the bird got hit in the stomach and the legs by a goat.

Slowly the cloud made a ram. It hit the strong heavy bird in the stomach again. Bang!

Quickly the strong heavy bird got poked by the prickles on the hedgehog. The bird screamed loudly.

Sadly the grey cloud’s bird flew up to the nearest white cloud and the sad cloud got upset.

Angrily the cloud got sad and mad and the cloud shot out lightning.

Happily the strong heavy bird flew back to his cloud and the cloud made an eel. The eel shocked the happy bird.

Proudly the grey cloud and the bird lived happily ever after.
